COG Campout Week
July 14th-17th, 2021
Family Camp Update: Family Camp becomes Church of God Campout Week (2020-21 only)
The Plan! (While always subject to change with state regulations, we believe we will be able to offer….) A block of time set aside for Church of God families to come and camp. Families call in and reserve their site. Payments are all electronic. Boxed to-go lunch service will be offered with a pre-set yummy menu. Social distancing with people outside your family is expected. Anyone who congregates under a roof is expected to wear a mask. Please, don’t come if you have been exposed in the last 2 weeks or have any flu or cold like symptoms.
What are the perks? It will cost less than the classic family camp. A chance to get out and still be in a Christian environment. Disc golf, hiking, time in the mountains, and it looks like we’ll be able to open up the lake at half capacity for swimming fun in the afternoons 1:30-3:30.
Pricing:
RV and / or tent sites $25/night
How many to a site? One site = 1 household / family that lives under the same roof. Can you put 2 RV's on the same site if everyone lives under the same roof - No - of course not (but no one would have asked that, right?)
Lunch Service $8 / boxed lunch. Included meal, cookie, soda or bottled water
Wednesday – chicken enchilada, rice and tortilla chips
Thursday - burger and fries
Friday - Chicken wraps, pasta salad and bag chips
Saturday - Pulled pork BBQ, tater tots, and slaw

Favorite Area Hikes to "Peak" Your Interest
Beacon Ridge – 3.8 miles (1.9 miles one way) – Very hard but the most spectacular hike in the area and maybe Washington. Hike starts going up with .9 miles of beautiful forest. Once you make the turn for Beacon, the trail ascends steeply on an amazing ridge. Hike finished with the summit and small lookout beacon tower. Awesome views everywhere.
Easton Ridge – 6.3 miles (3.1 miles one way) - Everyone who has been to Double K has looked across the valley to the north and oogled at the ridge and prominent rock summit. This hike does not disappoint. The first 1.5 miles are grueling uphill climb. Once on the ridge – beautiful views open up and ends at a rock summit.
The Big Loop – Kachess Ridge to Silver Creek Connector back to the Domerie Divide. 14.5 miles. The best of the Kittitas Cascades and really good for DK if you’re participating in our “Steps for DK” walk-a-thon.
The John Wayne Trail – right out the front of Double K – any distance you like East or West. Run / Bike / Walk
Monahan Mountain East – 6 miles (3 one way). More gradual 1400 climb across the canal from DK. Great views of Goat Peak and Easton
Goat Mountain – From DK around 10-12 miles or drive to alternate trailhead. While other hikes may be better as a whole, nothing beats the summit of Goat. Those with off-road 4-wheel drive may venture within a mile of the summit
